JACKSON, Miss.—A Trustmark bank in Jackson got more excitement than they bargained for on Wednesday morning.
A man entered the Westland Plaza location and passed a note to a teller demanding money.
“He didn’t have a weapon displayed to our knowledge,” said Officer Colendula Green.
After he got his cash he fled the scene on foot apparently.
“An officer noticed a black man running from the bank around that location,” she said.
The responding officer lost contact with the suspect but the police set up a perimeter and he was seen in an abandoned home in the area. Once he was spotted, it didn’t take long to nab him said Green.
“He was arrested on the second floor.”
The money was back in the good guys hands too at that point.
“There was also an undisclosed amount of money discovered on the scene too.”
