Four Qualify to Fill Frmr. Rep. McGee's Seat in House

BRANDON, Miss.--Former Rep. Kevin McGee (R-Brandon) has to be replaced after resigning over ethics violations. Now four have qualified to run in the Jan. 8 special election.

Scot Allen, Benny Hubbard, Bradley Lum and Brent Powell have qualified to run for the House District 59 seat.

McGee resigned in November. The State Ethics Commission has found McGee voted on state contracts that eventually went to his family’s Rankin County painting business.  McGee paid a $10,000 fine and can never run for a seat in the Mississippi Legislature again.
