JACKSON, Miss. -- The Body of State Senator Alice Harden (D, Jackson) will lie in repose at the State Capitol in Jackson Thursday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
JACKSON, Miss. -- The Body of State Senator Alice Harden (D, Jackson) will lie in repose at the State Capitol in Jackson Thursday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Visitation is from 4-6 p.m. followed by a memorial service Thursday night at Black’s Chapel Missionary Baptist Church. Harden’s funeral will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Greater St. James Missionary Baptist Church.
Harden died last week after a lengthy illness. The former teacher became first black female elected to the Mississippi Senate. She served from 1987 until her death. She will be buried at Cedar Lawn Cemetery.
