JACKSON, Miss.-- The "Ideas Tour" that House Speaker Philip Gunn has been talking about for the last month is almost here.
Gunn said, "We plan to take ourselves out into the communities across the state. And hear the people and what they have to say, this is an opportunity for them to come and meet with us."
He reiterated this isn't a tour where politicians will be speaking to their platform or constituents; this will be for the public.
Gunn added, "People can come to these meetings and we want to hear their ideas. This is an opportunity for them to tell us what they think."
Each meeting will last one hour and fifteen minutes for public discussion.
The meetings and times are as follows:
Oct. 8: Jackson State Capitol at 8 a.m.
Oct. 8: Greenwood City Hall at 1 p.m.
Oct 8: Hernando City Court Room 4:30 p.m.
Oct. 9: Tupelo City Hall 9 a.m.
Oct. 9: Columbus City Hall 1 p.m.
Oct. 9: Meridian City Hall 5 p.m.
Oct. 11: Hattiesburg at the Cultural Center on Main ST. 9 a.m.
Oct. 11: Biloxi City Hall 1:30 p.m.
Oct. 12: Brookhaven at State Bank and Trust 10 a.m.
