JACKSON, Miss.-- A recent study completed on the November 6 general election day in Mississippi has shed some light on voter ID concerns.
Mississippi Secretary of State Delbert Hosemann said a third party conducted a survey of 12,000 random voters throughout the entire state in regards to if they have any photo identification."
"At the end of that study we found out that 98% of Mississippi voters have at least one of the eight acceptable forms of ID."
This is crucial information as the state continues its push to get the feds to approve the already passed law.
There was at least one other surprise regarding the demographics of who did and didn't have an ID.
"The largest group of people who don't have an ID are 18-24," added Hosemann.
This clearly goes against the stereotype that older people make up the largest voting demographic that don't have access to any ID.
Other demographic information Hosemann released was 99% of white people and 97% of all black people who were polled indeed had a photo ID that was acceptable.
