JACKSON, Miss.-Several sex crime stories have come out in the past couple of days. News Mississippi has a rundown of them for you.

A five-year-old girl is the victim of a sexual assault in Vicksburg. The mother's fiance' has been arrested. Cops say James Cubit, Jr. was picked up after the mom called cops. Few details are being released.

A special judge has been appointed to hear the sex crimes charges against a former Forrest County educator and nursery worker.  Judge Bob Helfrich recused himself because he and Wesley Topp go to the same church.  The Mississippi Supreme Court has now appointed William Coleman to hear Topp’s case.

A former Jackson County Sheriff’s department worker is no longer facing child pornography charges.  A grand jury says there is not enough evidence against Jeffrey Trehern to indict him.
