By Knox Graham
Jackson, Miss.-- Friday about 50 people met at Methodist Rehabilitation center to hear Dr. Dobrivoje Stokic and Dr. Art Leis speak. Both doctors have studied West Nile virus extensively in the state of Mississippi since 2002. There have been two confirmed deaths in the state of Mississippi from the West Nile Virus this year and nine new cases this week. I spoke to a hospital official that says there are eight cases of West Nile virus currently being treat at the center as of today. The Mississippi Department of Health says the peak months traditionally for West Nile virus are June, July, and August.
