NATCHEZ, Miss.— A new manufacturing plant, von Drehle company, in the town will add dozens of jobs soon.
Von Drehle deals with the manufacturing of paper products, both commercial and industrial.
Governor Phil Bryant was present Tuesday for the announcement.
“We’ll be adding to this facility, we think, nearly 100 jobs,” he said.
He spoke on the economic atmosphere the state is currently facing and his hope for
the workers here.
“The opportunity for every man and woman that wants a job is my responsibility,” he said. “We must create an environment where every Mississippian that wants a job, has one.”
Bryant spoke about how that’s not always easy but the state has seen multiple announcements in the last two months on jobs coming to the state.
The paper products company also has plants in Nevada, North Carolina, and Tennessee.
This announcement comes on the heels of the firing of many workers at the Viking Corporation in Greenwood last week after the Middleby Corporation of Illinois bought it out recently.
