Neighbor Holds Burglar Tied Up with Belt at Gunpoint

BILOXI, Miss. – A burglar was busted in the act, thanks to an armed neighbor. It all started when the woman who lived at the Biloxi home left with her sick child to get medicine. Biloxi Detective Carl Short says a neighbor drove by the home and saw an unfamiliar vehicle pull up to the house; he was suspicious when the suspect immediately went to the back of the house after getting out of the car.

After circling around the block the neighbor blocked the suspect’s car in the driveway with his own. When the suspect walked out the front door with several small items the neighbor confronted him, which resulted in a physical altercation. Soon after, the suspect ran his car into a tree when he tried to drive off.

“The neighbor went and grabbed a pistol from his vehicle and held the guy at gunpoint until the patrolman showed up” said Carl.

The neighbor, along with a friend tied up 18-year-old Alvin Anderson Jr. with a belt. When authorities arrived they found stolen property from D’Iberville in his car. Anderson was charged with burglary. He was already out on bond for two counts of burglary in Harrison County and had a warrant in Forrest for burglary.

Carl says the majority of burglaries happen during the day when people aren’t at home.
