JACKSON, Miss.--Even though Friday was expected to be the closest thing Mississippi would see to a break in the rain, it's not really a break. Some areas woke up to rain or drizzle Friday morning, following a very wet Thursday.
North and central Mississippi have a 20 percent rain chance for Friday, but that goes back up for Saturday, Sunday, Monday and was expected to last at least through the middle part of next week.
In south Mississippi, Saturday was expected to be dry, but rain was expected to start back Saturday night and get heavy again by Sunday.
The last day to feel milder temperatures is Sunday, with mid 70s in the south to upper 60s north. Temps are expected to drop by Monday to a more seasonable level, with lower 60s on the coast to upper 40s in north Mississippi.
