No White Christmas for Mississippi, Severe Storms Tonight
JACKSON, Miss.--The odds of Santa arriving to a winter wonderland in the Magnolia State are pretty small this year, says the forecast from the National Weather Service. But, it does look like Christams Day will be a wet one.
Highs are expected in the 60s for most of the state, with a 50/50 shot at rain, according to the latest predictions. In fact, rain will be with us on Christmas Eve, too. Lows will only dip down as far as the mid 50s.
Meanwhile, as we await Christmas, we can expect some big changes tonight as a cold front m oves through in the overnight hours. All parts of the state will likely see rain, with thunderstorms. Some of those could reach severe levels. It is possible that some storms could still be around as you wake up.
Temperatures are going to get a bit cooler, with the air somewhat drier by Thursday. Temps are expected in the 50s, with a low near the freezing mark Thursday night.
