April 13 Autism awareness 5K
April is Autism Awareness Month! In support, join the University of Southern Mississippi Institute for Disability Studies in the first annual “Stride Across the Spectrum 5K Race and 1 Mile Fun Run!” The race will take place at the Southern Miss Station of the Longleaf Trace on April 13th, 2012. Registration will begin at 4:15 P.M, followed by the Fun Run at 5:30 P.M. and the 5K at 6:00 P.M. Funds generated from the race will support individuals from the local community with autism spectrum disorder and their families. Visit www.usm.edu/ids for a printable flyer and registration form.

My Fair Lady presented
William Carey University’s School of Music will present “My Fair Lady” on Friday, April 20, and on Saturday, April 21, at 7:30 p.m. in the Smith Auditorium. Dr. Connie Roberts, professor of music at WCU, will be directing the musical, which will feature WCU student, faculty and staff members. General admission is $10 or Golden Circle Reserved Seating is $25. In addition, those who purchase Golden Circle Reserved Seating tickets will have English tea with the cast one hour prior to show time. For more information, call 601-318-6175.

Early Head Start registration
P.A.C.E. Head Start is in the process of registering children for Early Head Start (8 weeks to 2 years of age) and children who will be 3 or 4 years of age by September 1 for the pre-school program in Hattiesburg, Petal, and Forrest County. P.A.C.E. Head Start also accepts children with disabling conditions (visual, speech, hearing, physical, health, and mental impairments).
P.A.C.E. Head Start is also in the process of recruiting pregnant women for the New Beginnings Program, which is a part of the Early Head Start Program. Applications are being accepted at the P.A.C.E. Administrative Office at 100 West Front Street, Hattiesburg. PLEASE BRING WITH YOU:
