JACKSON, Miss. -- Mission Mississippi has designated October as Racial Reconciliation Celebration Month. Tuesday at the Jackson Convention Complex many sponsors and supporters came out to promote the message.
"Mississippians are encouraged to take this month to celebrate the many positive strides made in race relations over the years," says Lee Bush, Chairman of the Board, Mission Mississippi.
"We encourage people to have lunch and dinner together across the racial divide and to sit down and have a conversation to get to know each other and even build a new relationship," says President of Mission Mississippi Neddie Winters.
Tuesday and Thursday several restaurants in the metro area will be participating in Racial Reconciliation Celebration Month. You and a person from a different race or denominational background can get 22 percent off your meal and those restaurants.
