JACKSON, Miss.—The severe weather that was predicted to be in the state already has been lagging over Louisiana and Texas but looks to soon be here.
Mississippi is already seeing raining, and some of it severe, in certain parts of the state.
Meteorologist Jared Allen says, “For the rest of the state , light to moderate showers in the state today.”
Allen says that cold front is finally starting to push across the southeast and bringing the rain with it.
“Ahead of that cold front are strong to severe storms.”
And he says with the warmer temperatures you’ve been seeing around the state that’s going to breed stronger storms.
“Main risks will be straight-line winds and a few possible tornadoes cannot be ruled out,” he added.
So make sure you’re alert as the sun goes down Wednesday and throughout the night when some of the strongest lines of rain will be pushing through the state.
