UNION COUNTY, Miss.-- A Christmas day shooting by the hands of a deputy has killed a man in Union County.
"We had a call shortly before 8 p.m. on a domestic dispute call," says Sheriff Jimmy Edwards.
He said his officers then responded to that call and that's where the main part of the story remains vague.
"We ending up with the suspect being shot and he later died from his wounds," added Edwards.
Sheriff Edwards says they're not releasing many details at all regarding the incident.
"We dont want to end an investigation and it's been handed over to the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation."
No names have been released from the Union County Sheriff's Department for either the deputy or the victim, but the Northeast Mississippi Daily Journal says the victim is 62-year-old Clyde Bailey.
