WAYNE COUNTY, Miss.—A crazy turn of events has left one dead in Wayne County and created many questions.
A young woman, identified as 22-year-old Amber Andrews, wrecked Thursday afternoon on a stretch of Hwy 84 east according to police, but it was caused by unusual circumstances.
“He shot her as she was going down the highway,” said Wayne Co. Deputy Mamie Turner.
That is what authorities are saying now, that a man actually shot Andrews while her vehicle was moving and caused the accident.
Police say the shooter is 25-year-old Anthony Pace and details surrounding the shooting turned wreck are vague.
“We don’t have a motive at this time…we really don’t,” she said.
And authorities aren’t releasing much information other than Pace is now in custody.
“We have him here at the Wayne County Detention Center currently.”
Pace was arrested in Alabama apparently and just recently made it back to Wayne County.
