Since Americans consume 400 million cups of coffee per day(which is the equivalent to 146 billion cups each year making the U.S. the leading consumer of coffee), I bet you have a had a cup of Joe at some point today.

Maybe you are enjoying a cup right now.

Well, you can thank goats and a monk for discovering coffee some 1,200 years ago. Legend has it that 9th century goat herders noticed the effect caffeine had on their goats, who appeared to “dance” after eating coffee berries. A local monk then made a drink with coffee berries and found that it kept him awake at night, thus the original cup of coffee was born.

More goes into a good cup of coffee than a filter and some water, so you don’t want to miss Rebecca’s conversation with Paul Bonds, founder of BeanFruit Coffee, as they dive into sourcing, brewing, and even nitro coffee!

You’d like to know more about your favorite morning brew… Listen!
