November is Diabetes Awareness Month

Diabetes is a disease that affects how the body produces or uses insulin, the peptide hormone responsible for breaking down sugar in the body, and November is National Diabetes Awareness Month. The human body is an amazingly resilient creation, and experts agree that many people that would be diagnosed with Diabetes often ignore or don’t even notice the symptoms of diabetes, because the body slowly compensates for the failures of the Pancreas. That, in and of itself, can lead to people going years without treatment for a potential fatal disease. If you’d like to learn more about diabetes, be sure to check out the conversation here!
