SOUTHAVEN, Miss.--There are increased risks for heat-related illnesses once again in north Mississippi and a heat advisory for Thursday. The actual temperatu...re is expected at around 96, with a heat index at 105 to 109. It's still hot for the rest of the state, but not quite that hot. Temperatures-95 central, 93 south, with a 50 percent rain chance on the coast.

The forecast has central Mississippi with increased rain chances Friday and Saturday. Northern counties have less of a chance for showers.

Here are some words of advice, right from the National Weather Service website:

A HEAT ADVISORY MEANS THAT A PERIOD OF HOT TEMPERATURES IS EXPECTED. TAKE EXTRA PRECAUTIONS IF YOU WORK OR SPEND TIME OUTSIDE. WHEN POSSIBLE...RESCHEDULE STRENUOUS ACTIVITIES TO EARLY
MORNING OR EVENING. KNOW THE SIGNS AND SYMPTOMS OF HEAT EXHAUSTION AND HEAT STROKE. WEAR LIGHT WEIGHT AND LOOSE FITTING CLOTHING WHEN POSSIBLE AND DRINK PLENTY OF WATER. CHECK UP ON RELATIVES AND NEIGHBORS.

TO REDUCE RISK DURING OUTDOOR WORK...THE OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY AND HEALTH ADMINISTRATION RECOMMENDS SCHEDULING FREQUENT REST BREAKS IN SHADED OR AIR CONDITIONED ENVIRONMENTS. ANYONE OVERCOME BY
