Bryant Issues Immigration Order Preventing Benefits
by Chris Davis
JACKSON, Miss.--An executive order coming down today from Gov. Phil Bryant that says no to immigrants getting public benefits.
It’s already law in Mississippi. A press release from Bryant’s camp says he’s concerned about taxpayers being unduly burdened by paying for benefits for aliens. It comes a week after the Deferred Action concept went into effect. It’s the Obama administration’s promise not to deport youth here illegally and to offer them a chance to get documents like driver licenses.
