GULFPORT, Miss.--A boat capsized-a man stranded on top and now a U.S. Border Patrol crew based out of Gulfport is claiming credit for his rescue near Mobile. A spokesperson from Customs and Border Patrol Marine Division told us their boat was closer than the Coast Guard and moved in when the night time rescue call ...
went out this week.
“This rescue effort is a perfect example of how Customs and Border Protection works side-by-side with our sister DHS components,” said Tony Arevalo, Director of Marine Operations New Orleans Air and Marine Branch in a press release. “The timely and successful outcome of this unexpected search and rescue mission illustrates the advantages of leveraging DHS resources to accomplish a mission.”
