There were some earlier Mississippi reports that 10 Walgreens are going to be shutting down in the next month. After speaking to a spokesman for Walgreens we can say that report is false.
The situation explained in a press release is that Walgreens is set to aquire USA Drug that have numerous locations around the state within the next month. In advance of this aquisition Walgreens has informed some employees of these USA Drug stores in Miss. that the location they are currently working will not remain open.
People that use these stores for their prescriptions will be notified of the closure and their prescriptions will be transferred automatically to near by Walgreens or USA Drug stores in the area.
Even though some USA Drug stores are closing Walgreens says there will still be seven open inside the borders of Mississippi.
