Oxford, Miss.-- The University of Mississippi has continued to see growth over the years and the school released data yesterday that shows Ole Miss enrollment over 20,500 students.
The growth is in large part to another record breaking freshman enrollment of over 3,500 students of whom over two-thirds are from the state of Mississippi.
The higher percentage of in-state students can be attributed to higher academic standards for out-of-state students that were put in place for the most recent freshman class and beyond.
Even with those standards Ole Miss boasts over 15,000 undergraduates on its Oxford campus currently.
The latest report from the University of Mississippi says it has students from 49 states and over 91 countries attending the school.
The increase is from last year is up amost 700 students which is a 3.3% gain.
