Greenville, Miss.-- Chuck Jordan, the mayor of Greenville, is expected to resign this morning at 8:30 a.m. at city hall.
Our sources in the Delta tell us Jordan has advanced stage cancer and citing obvious health issues is his reasoning behind resigning.
He has only been on the job for nine months after he won a landslide victory in December with 64% of the vote in Greenville.
News Mississippi will have an update after the planned announcement at 8:30 a.m.
