JACKSON, Miss. -- A growing number of Mississippians are going to college, without ever setting foot in a classroom. Many of them are enrolled in online classes offered by the state’s community colleges.
Dr. Eric Clark overseas those schools and said their Mississippi Virtual Community College (MSVCC) started in 2000 with an enrollment of 1,382 students. “In the past decade, it has grown to where we now have close to 30,000 students taking more than 60,000 courses total online,” he added.
MSVCC is a consortium of Mississippi's 15 community colleges. For more information, go to their website, MSVCC.org.
