JACKSON, Miss.-- As weekend warriors look towards Saturday and Sunday after coming off a great work-week of weather, an umbrella might be appropriate.
For the majority of the week Mississippians have enjoyed good weather. The kind of weather where it's not too hot, not too cold, but just right.
And for many hoping that continues throughout the weekend are set to be disappointed.
Meteorologist Chad Entremont says, "Once we get into Saturday night and Sunday that's when some of the more widespread rains are expected for the region."
Entremont tells News Mississipi the front moving in from the West is traveling slowly and that could mean heavier rainfall amounts around the state.
Entremont adds, "At least one to three inches of rain look to be possible with some areas seeing up to four inches during the whole time period."
With the rain moving in, temperatures in most areas won't get over 80 degrees headed into Monday and Tuesday.
