Governor Phil Bryant is now chairman of the Southern State's Energy Board. He wants us to be more energy independent.
"We've got to become energy independent. I think we could become an exporting nation. I think we could export liquified natural gas, and Mississippi is the crossroads of energy with our pipeline system," says Bryant.
Bryant recently returned from a trade conference in Japan. He says we could have potential buyers.
"Japan is about to close fifty nuclear reactors after the incident that occurred there so they are going to be looking for that product."
That could mean more money and more jobs for the magnolia state.
