MADISON, Miss. -- The West Nile virus has claimed its fifth victim in Madison County bringing the state's total to five deaths this year. The Mississippi Department of Health reports 14 new human cases of the virus bringing this year total number of cases to 200. That is almost four times more than last year and the largest number of cases ever recorded in the state. Mississippi is now ranked 3rd per capital among all states for infections this year.
