GREENWOOD, Miss. -- You may have experienced a power outage in North Mississippi. Entergy Spokesperson Mara Hartmann says, "About a quarter till two this afternoon a squirrel got into our substation in Leflore County and blew out a transformer and several feeder breakers and caused other problems at that sub station."
That squirrel caused widespread outages in the city of Greenwood which hosts over a thousand customers. Hartman told News Mississippi their men went out to get power restored as quickly and safely as possible. The blackout lasted about an hour and a half and power should be back on.
