JACKSON, Miss. -- American Council for an Energy-Efficient Economy (ACEEE) ranks Mississippi as one of 10 states in the most need of improvement for energy efficiency on this year’s Energy Efficiency Scorecard. For this years scorecard announcement ACEE hosted a nationwide teleconference Wednesday morning. Although the conference provided awareness for energy efficiency, ACEEE failed to mention Mississippi even once during the hour-long conference even though Mississippi was spotlighted as a state in most need of improvement. However, ACEEE's teleconference did provided an opportunity for Massachusetts and Oklahoma boast about their highly ranked energy programs while others were left in the dust.
Thursday Governor Bryant is hosting an energy summit with former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani at the Jackson Convention Center from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. to discuss energy improvements we can make in the state.
