Man Shot in the Head, Dropped Off at Fire Station

JACKSON, Miss -- He was shot in the head, then dropped off at a fire station. That is what Jackson police are saying after a Tuesday afternoon shooting.

Officer Colendula Green tells us, "We got a call around 4:19 in reference to a shooting attempt where a 30 year old black male attempted to make a purchase at a residence. Suspects shot him in the head and fled the scene. The victim was then dropped off at fire station 20 located at Medgar Evers."

Shortly after the man was taken to a local hospital. Officer Green tells us the last time they checked he was still in stable condition.

"He was actually shot in the left side of his head just above the temple."

Jackson Police are asking those who have additional information on this incident to notify them immediately at 601-3552.
