JACKSON, Miss.-- The former mayor of New York City Rudy Giuliani will be in Mississippi for a summit meeting today.
Giuliani is the keynote speaker in Jackson where Mississippi Governor Phil Bryant is leading "The Governor's Energy Summit: Energy and Economic Development in the 21st Century."
Earlier this week Governor Bryant said, "It's quite an opportunity for any governor to lead an organization at this level that's made up of 16 other governors."
Also making up this summit grouping are businesses leaders from the energy sector and politicians in the know.
There will be a roundtable session with those businesses leader to talk about Mississippi's energy future, the main topic of the day. Leaders from businesses like Entergy, KiOR, American Gas Association, and Denbury Resources will all be manning the roundtable.
Giuliani is set to speak to the crowd at 2:30 p.m. at the Jackson Convention Complex.
The trademark of the summit will be Governor Bryant unveiling his "Energy Works: Mississippi's Energy Roadmap" to keep the state moving forward in that sector.
The gathering today is organized by the Mississippi Development Authority and Mississippi Energy Institute.
