Weather: Late Work-Week Warmup

By: Knox Graham

JACKSON, Miss.-- With each day this work-week we've moved higher with the mercury. Today will be no different.

Even as Mississippians see their calendars designating mid-October, that hasn't slowed down temperatures remaining in the 80's for certain towns.

Today will be one of those days for many around the state.  Plenty of sunshine is expected with no one having over a 10% chance of rain during the day.

Senior Meteorologist Eric Carpenter said, "Overall is looks like we're going to see conditions warming up as we go from the week to the weekend across Mississippi."

There is a slight chance of rain in north Mississippi for the end of the work week but that's not expected any where else.

Carpernter added, "Most of the state is going to be pretty dry as we go through today and Friday and Saturday."

That means that kickoffs in-state for Ole Miss and Mississippi State against Auburn and Tennessee should remain unaffected by the elements on Saturday.

Rain chances creep up into the 30% range in-state on Sunday.
