JACKSON, Miss.-- The weekend weather was kind to Mississippi outside of a few severe thunderstorms that popped up late Sunday afternoon.
Expect much of the same nice weather with a mild flavor for Monday.
Meteorologist Chad Entremont says, "Quite a bit of sun for the next couple of days. And temperatures for Monday will be a little bit cooler than it was this weekend."
But that's doesn't necessarily mean cool temperatures today after mid to upper-80's all weekend.
"Temperatures this afternoon across the state will be in the mid to upper-70's", added Entremont.
This mild trend will continue until at least Wednesday with little to no rain chances.
After hump day things could get cooler with a cold front moving in and rain chances increasing.
