HANCOCK COUNTY, Miss. -- Six million dollars worth of circus elephants stranded on the side of the road. It happened Sunday night just before midnight near the eight-mile marker on I-10. Kurt Neicase of West Hancock Fire rescue tells News Mississippi a trailer truck hauling four elephants was ran off the road by another vehicle. The truck was totaled after striking a tree, but the driver and elephants were not injured. Afterwards Circus workers moved the elephants onto trailers filled with other animals, which may have been a spectacle for some Mississippi motorists. The circus was on its way to a performance in Hammond, Louisiana.
