RIDGELAND, Miss.-- House fires plagued Mississippi last week and this week isn't off to a good start with a Ridgeland fire from Sunday evening.
One apartment at the Ridgeland Ranch Apartment Complex did get over 50% destroyed according to Ridgeland Fire Chief Matthew Bailey.
He says, "It did burn through the roof and did extensive damage to about half of the building."
Chief Bailey says that the fire has displaced at least six families that lived in that one apartment building.
He adds, "I'm pretty sure that those families, all those families, will probably be moved out of that building."
No injuries were reported luckily during the blaze, and the cause of the fire is still under investigation at this point.
