CORINTH, Miss.- A friendly visit to a "friend's" house escalated pretty quickly in Corinth for two women.
Earlier this month 39-year-old Jeanette Coker was charged for assaulting 29-year-old Jessica Lowery when she came to visit, according to police.
Captain Ralph Dance says, "She retrieved a hammer and a steel pipe and attacked Lowery by hitting her in the head with the hammer multiple times."
He says there is a history of Coker have mental instability when cops have had run-ins with her before.
Oddly enough officials tell us the two women used to be friends but clearly that isn't the case currently.
"Coker is still in jail on a $50-thousand bond", added Captain Dance.
And as for the victim?
Captain Dances says, "Lowery has been released from the hospital after being treated."
Cops still have no idea why Coker snapped and assaulted Lowery.
