HANCOCK COUNTY, Miss.- The John C. Stennis Space Center added a new addition this morning with a grand opening ceremony.
Today marked the day that the Mississippi State University Science and Technology Center was opened in the Stennis Space Center.
The doors opened in a grand ceremony at 10 a.m. this morning.
The John C. Stennis Space Center was founded on the coast in the 1960's during the great race to space. The purpose of the center was to test powerful rockets that would ultimately take men to the moon.
Also included in the multitude of exhibits it offers, the center houses more than 30 state and federal agencies, which includes the world's largest group of oceanographers.
