JACKSON, Miss. --Besides the obvious immediate jobs, here’s how the head of the Mississippi economic council says growing middle skill jobs will benefit you in the long run.
“As you bring in more middle skill jobs, it requires more high-tech folks to run the engineering aspect, the process aspects,” Blake Wilson said. “ As you bring in more of those folks, then more of the high skilled, high wage jobs are available. And, so you can bring in more high wage, high skilled companies, because you’ve got a workforce that’s already here.”
Wilson says that’s the same way North Carolina rebuilt its economy and Mississippi is already on track to do the same.
