Mississippi Missionary Still in Macedonian Jail-No Ruling Yet

MERIDIAN, Miss.--Candi Dunlap is still in a jail in Macedonia today after the judge who set to rule on the smuggling charge against her delayed that ruling Friday. The Facebook page Prayers for Candi keeps updates coming from Dunlap's husband Marc, who is still in the country to be with his wife, though the two have limited contact.
The judge had said she would rule Friday. The case was presented to the court Monday.

The latest update reads:

Just received news that hearing by judge has been postponed until next Wednesday Macedonia time which is 6am here. This is such a blow to their spirit. Please continue to pray for renewed strength for each of them. God Bless!

Dunlap has been in jail for three weeks after she was caught leaving the country with coins that are considered to be artifacts. They were given to her as gifts by a Macedonian citizen. Dunlap's husband posted that she did not know the coins could not legally be taken out of the country.

Dunlap served as a medical missionary for the Fifteenth Avenue Baptist Church in Meridian. She practices as an RN in Starkville.
