MERIDIAN, Miss.-- Candi Dunlap, the woman who has been stranded in Macedonia by officials there, is on her way to the states now.
According to Mississippi congressman Greg Harper this morning the judge in Macedonia gave her the minimum sentence for trying to take home coins given to her from a friend in the country.
Those coins turned out to be artifacts in the eyes of officials there and so she was detained when trying to leave.
She has been ordered to pay for the court costs which amount to about $300 U.S. dollars.
According to Harper, Dunlap also can't visit Macedonia for ten years and will also be under two years probation in the U.S. upon her return.
