JACKSON, Miss.--The weather in Mississippi will actually feel like football this weekend. So, you might want to dress accordingly. We are getting word about a cold front that is set to drop temps by 20 degrees by Saturday.
We spoke with National Weather Service Meteorologist. David Cox.
"As the cold front moves through on Saturday, temperatures will drop into the mid 60s for highs and lows in the 40s," he said.
That cooler weather pattern will likely stay around for a while.
"One of the things that will cause the high pressure to stay around is Hurricane Sandy."
Cox said he expects the hurricane to linger off the east coast, causing the high pressure system that is bringing the cooler air to stay right over us, perhaps for a week. He said the next rain chance will be after that.
As far as rain with this front, it is possible we will see some showers as it moves through Friday and Friday night, perhaps even Saturday on the coast. But, no severe weather is expected.
