RANKIN COUNTY, Miss. -- A murder is headed to jail for the rest of his life. Jonathan Keen has been found guilty of beating Kerry Prisock to death last year, and stealing his van. Keen had said he killed Prisock in self-defense, and denied that he stole anything.
"Keen is both a liar and a murderer who stole money and a van from the victim," said Madison-Rankin District Attorney Michael Guest in a statement released to News Mississippi. "Keen struck Prisock in the head with a claw hammer more than 40 times until his death and then drove around the Jackson area buying drugs with the dead body of the victim inside of the van. Keen was high on marijuana, cocaine and alcohol at the time he killed Prisock," he added.
Mississippi Department of Transportation workers found Priscock's van off I-55 in Jackson in October 2011. Police say the dead body was inside. Keen will serve his sentence day-for-day and is not eligible for parole.
