STARKVILLE, Miss.-- If you've been plugged-in to social media over the last 48 hours and have at least a handful of Mississippi State University supporters on your networks, you've probably seen the "We Believe" campaign firsthand.
As MSU has moved to 7-0 on the gridiron this season the game Saturday with Alabama looms large.
The #WeBelieve hashtag and "We Believe" campaign is aimed at just that game. With a win on the road MSU would move to 8-0 on the season and have beaten the #1 team in the country.
"And the "We Believe" thing was a student-based and fan-based thing that kind of went viral on social media."
Stricklin says the #HailState logos in the endzones at Scott Field are part of brand marketing and this is just something that add to the fan experience his staff is trying to provide.
The slogan has shown up in all sorts of places also.
"Someone hung a banner off the state capitol in jackson and someone put up a banner on one of the cannons overlooking the river in Vicksburg," adds Stricklin.
The mantra was even seen in the background of the TODAY Show on NBC Friday morning, by what is assumed to be an MSU fan holding up a sign.
MSU and Alabama are set to kick off under the lights at Bryant-Denny Stadium in Tuscaloosa at 7:30 p.m. CST tomorrow.
