VICKSBURG, Miss. -- Receiving a package from China sends a Texas man to a Mississippi jail. Law enforcement seized over 100,000 diet pills shipped from China that contained sibutramine, a Schedule IV controlled substance in the United States. A press release from the Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics says sibutramine has been linked to heart attacks and strokes.
Oscar Hugo Onate, 30, of Dallas was arrested Thursday after a three week investigation at the Pumberton Square post office in Vicksburg. He was charged with possession and intent to distribute.
