VICKSBURG, Miss. -- A Warren County grand jury will decide if two Vicksburg men should stand trial for murder.
Tamares “Binky” Dillon and Christopher Polk are charged with fatally shooting Mardy Blackmore over the weekend. “Both are being held at the Warren County Jail with no bond,” according to Vicksburg Police Lt. Sandra Williams.
She tells me Blackmore’s girlfriend was the last person to see him alive Saturday night. “She stated that her boyfriend had left their apartment headed to the suspect’s apartment – which is Christopher Polk.”
That’s when investigators started talking to Polk’s neighbors to find out if they saw or heard anything. “We obtained information that the victim was in fact shot there, and removed from the apartment,” Williams explained.
Blackmore’s body was found behind those apartments Sunday morning with a fatal gunshot wound to the chest.
The next grand jury meets in January and is expected to consider the case then.
