"We trusted God and my daughter came out perfect," said one man on the mic. "She's been exposed to German measles and the baby's gonna be all messed up. We said we still can't do it and Stephanie came out awesome. She wound up with six kids, we got eight grand kids and one great-grandchild. All we have to do is trust God."
The group, at least some of them, were with Operation: Save America. Those protestors parked outside of local schools and had some parents upset late last week when they displayed pictures of aborted babies. The photos were large and graphic, showing the face and brain of one dead baby. Supporters of the group told us the pictures were the truth about abortion and they are hoping it has a lasting impact.
"We love children and killing children, you cannot disobey God's commands and not reap the consequences," said one young lady who was holding a baby at the protest. "Our nation is reaping the consequences of almost 40 years of killing children through abortion."
"We're just trusting God to shut the abortion clinic down and save babies and souls," another man put it succinctly.

Just how long the clinic does remain open may be a matter for the courts. A law was passed in the 2012 legislative session that requires doctors performing abortions in the Magnolia State to be certified OBGYNs and to have admitting privileges at local hospitals. The law would render the clinic impotent, as no doctors there have those privileges. The clinic's operator told us in June they do not believe the rule to be medically necessary.
A fedral judge ruled July 1, the day the law was set to go into effect, that Mississippi cannot enforce the law in keeping with U.S. Supreme Court precendent that says states cannot place undue burdens or obstacles in front of women seeking abortions. Some, like Gov. Phil Bryant, said when the law was passed they hoped it would make Mississippi abortion-free.
Operation: Save America would like to see the clinic shut down immediately and members say they support laws that would do so.
"This is the last abortion clinic in the state of Mississippi, so we're praying God is gonna close it down," said a protestor, "so that the innocent blood will begin to stop crying out from the ground for justice."
