YAZOO, Miss. -- The man accused of killing a Yazoo City business owner in front of a crowd at his own restaurant last Friday had his initial court appearance Monday. Clifton Ward is charged with murder and his bond is set at $300,000. Police say 77-year-old Horace Johnson died of a gunshot wound to the neck.
HARRISON COUNTY, Miss. -- Sunday's shooting at Keesler’s family campground is now being called a possible murder suicide attempt. Harrison County’s coroner confirms that the 57-year-old woman found dead there shot herself after wounding her estranged 66-year-old husband. Their names have not been released, but according to WLOX the man is retired form the army and had a Louisiana driver's license. We have learned the two were going through a divorce and the man is expected to live.
