JACKSON, Miss.--While many of you are at home with family for the Thanksgiving holiday weekend, which began Wednesday night, state troopers are on alert and on patrol. They're looking for drunk drivers and violators who might make the roadways unsafe.
Extra troopers will be looking for you if you drink and drive. That's because Thanksgiving is traditionally a deadly time for drivers. Last year, two people were killed on state highways.
You can look for check points and for the extra troopers to be on high alert. The holiday ends Monday night.
