More Dead Dolphins Show Up On A Mississippi Beach

HORN ISLAND, Miss.--Decapitated and mutilated dolphin bodies are becoming a more common sight on the Mississippi Gulf Coast. Friday a group of bird surveyors found the severed head of a dolphin on Horn Island, and the body of another murdered dolphin was found on a mainland beach.

The Sun Herald, a newspaper that covers the coast, reports that the body and body part have been taken to the Institute of Marine Mammal Studies in Gulfport.

It is unknown right now if there is any connection with the discovery last month of dolphins in ackson and Harrison counties that had been shot stabbed and mutilated.

The dolphins found Friday had been dead several days.
